STING OF BETRAYAL | Poetry by Areba Eram

   "  Though those that are betray'd ,

Do feel the treason sharply, yet

the traitor stands in the worst case of

     woe. "

                                   William Shakespeare

STING OF BETRAYAL

On a sunny cloudless sky,

Sting of betrayal pierced me

Perforated through every edges of my existence

With their clean scented hands they

Stabbed me in my back

A beautiful pearl-handed dagger their tool

But I was standing before cheval  glass pool

It unveiled all their truth.

Milk and honey dripped through their tongues.

Hidden smirk,

Behind their pretentious smile

I saw you,

Falsehood under their chameleon skin

Their two faced mask

The same unchanging syllable of lies.

They act as if I 'm blind

Where is the truth in words you speak

Is your heart so cold it cannot bleed

My mind unable to comprehend their disloyalty

How they posses this duality?

I trusted you

What compensation to me?

You used your instrument of treachery

And played your tunes.

Now stop! my eardrums bleed.

Of no use are the songs you sing

You already lost me

And my trust on you.
